Industry Stakeholders Discuss Water Efficiency at Swiss Embassy in Chile

Water scarcity is now an increasing environmental concern around the world. Nowhere is this more pressing than in Chile, a country on the frontline of this growing crisis.

As a company promoting greater water efficiency, Aqua4D was delighted to take part in positive discussions on this topic at the Swiss Embassy in Santiago.

Along with IST Group’s Felipe Villarino, who are at the forefront of the 2030 Water Efficiency and “Campo Responsable” initiatives, several stakeholders from Chilean agriculture were invited to this constructive round-table discussion hosted by the Swiss ambassador to Chile and the Head of Trade Point, Mark Untersander, who noted: “This was a great occasion to share ideas and better understand the challenges and the new technologies which will make possible a sustainable management of this resource.”

This included various authorities such as Federico Errazuriz Tagle from the CNR (National Irrigation Commission), Francisco Contardo and Gonzalo Bulnes from the Palta Hass Avocado Association, and Juan Carlos Sepúlveda from Fedefruta (the National Fruit Producers Association).

Aqua4D’s Global Commercial Director, Patrick Rosat, and Senior Agronomist, Enrique Rebaza, were on hand to provide their expert opinions on water savings in agriculture.

According to Mark Untersander from the Embassy, it was high time this subject was being discussed at high levels: “It’s clear that water is a topic of huge relevance which affects everyone. Cooperation on this topic between national and international actors can secure prosperity in all senses of the word. It can generate trust and promote resilience.”

Such prominent discussions between stakeholders will serve to further push forward the pressing need for water efficiency in Chilean agriculture, and the technologies such as Aqua4D which make this possible.
