Chile: Huge potential for Aqua4D to improve water efficiency in the mining industry

In mid-October 2018, Patrick Rosat (Global Business Director, Aqua4D) visited Chile for a thoroughly engaging event with the Australia-Chile Chamber of Commerce. This took place in conjunction with Aqua4D’s distributor in Chile, Inversiones Villarino, who have taken the first steps to introduce the Swiss company’s proprietary technology to the Chilean mining sector.

Present at this event were several big names in mining in Chile such as Orica, FLSmidth, Deloitte, and CSIRO, as well as INACAP Technical University and the Chilean Government’s Water Management Department. There was a lively discussion between all parties regarding the challenges the mining industry faces in terms of water scarcity and water efficiency.

When it came to the Aqua4D presentation, there was a huge amount of interest from those present and the first steps were made for beginning cooperation and validation of the technology for the mining industry. It was clear that Aqua4D, which up to now has been working mainly with irrigation systems, would have much to offer by applying its innovative solutions to this industry and helping make water-intensive processes more efficient and sustainable.
